2B learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and why we celebrate his birthday by listening to the book “Martin’s Big Words”. Each student had either a black, white, or red paper with a crayon to match the color of their paper. They drew on their paper as they listened to the book. They discovered that their drawings didn’t look very good when the paper and crayons were the same color. They then decided that the drawings would be better if they shared crayons and used other colors on their paper, just like people of different races and colors need to work and live together peacefully. ...
