Corpus Christi Catholic School is a Christ-centered environment providing each student with the keys to succeed Spiritually, Academically, and Socially.
Athletics at CCCS
Corpus Christi Catholic School offers a number of opportunities for our students to wear the green and gold and represent the Cougars. We participate in several sports through the Harrisburg Diocese CYO and the Chambersburg Recreation Department, as well as school clubs.
Soccer
Our students get their first opportunity to sport the Cougar green and gold in elementary rec soccer, sponsored by the Chambersburg Rec Department. We field coed teams for K-1st grade, 2nd-3rd grade, and 4th-5th grade. There are separate fall (September-October) and spring (April-May) seasons.
Teams at all levels practice one night a week and play all games on Saturdays at Memorial Park in Chambersburg.
Registrations are sent to families and available online. The CCCS soccer coordinator organizes registrations, then sets rosters and distributes jerseys through the coaches.
Basketball
Our Cougars have a variety of opportunities to take to the court during the winter season:
4th-5th grade
The Chambersburg Rec Department offers 4th-5th grade basketball for boys and girls. Corpus Christi has fielded teams when there is enough interest.
Practices are once a week and games are held one evening a week at the Chambersburg Rec Center.

6th-8th grade
Middle school students can play on the boys or girls basketball teams in the Harrisburg CYO league. This level is much like the PIAA middle school level, with more competitive play and travel throughout the diocese.
The CYO teams are also open to middle school students who are active members of Corpus Christi parish and CCD program.
Practices are held 2-3 times a week. Games are held on Saturdays and Sundays, December-February.
Signup information will be available in mid-fall through the school and CCD.

Cheerleading
Corpus Christi offers cheerleading for students in grades 2-8.
The cheerleaders practice twice a week and cheer at all CYO home games, in addition to other community performances such as our annual pep rally.
Signups will be held in the fall through the school.

Development
CCCS also offers several developmental opportunities for students:
Cross-country club: Middle school students can join the cross-country club to condition and develop running skills. Practices are held twice a week after school and one evening of course running each week. Students run a timed mile at the beginning and end of each season with the goal of improving their time.
Open gyms: Students in grades 3-8 can participate in basketball and cheerleading open gyms during the summer and fall. Open gyms are casual - attendance is not mandatory each week. The focus is on fundamental skills and drills for a fun way to prepare for the respective seasons.
CCCS Athletic Association
Corpus Christi Catholic School Athletic Association is coordinated by parent volunteers. Along with the athletic facilitator, they are responsible for maintaining the uniform and equipment supply and organizing teams and coaches.
The Athletic Association holds two fundraisers each year: the winter raffle and spring golf tournament. Proceeds go toward uniform/equipment purchases and other athletic necessities.
Coaches are always needed! Our Cougar teams can’t play without our volunteer coaches. Clearances are required to coach (more information is available on the diocesan website). If you are interested in lending your time and talents to any of our teams, please contact CCCS athletic facilitator Laura Doty (LDoty@ccschambersburg.org)
Prayer
Father in heaven, bless our competition. May we participate with respect for one another in the spirit of fair play. Empowered by your Holy Spirit, may we (players, coaches and fans) embrace a Christian sense of hospitality towards one another. Under the title of Corpus Christi Body and Blood of Christ, may we in this game and the game of life, always do our best with enthusiasm. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
CCCS Athletic Association Mission Statement
